Welcome To Sri Murugan Temple

The primary deity of this temple is Palaniandavar.  His image is carved in the likeness  of the Deity of Palani Hills Temple in South India.  He is the shaven headed renunciate

yogin,  whose Grace bestows knowledge of the deeper contemplative depths of of  Yoga  and ultimately God-Realization. Now he has come to the West and resides in  this spectacular valley where people come from all over the world for disciplines play or leela in the mountains.

Many accomplished skiers and other world class athletes have made this their home.  These mountains are like a spiritual vortex for physical fitness.  As a natural unfoldment of this superior health is a profound interest in yoga and meditation.  We all are grateful that He, Lord  Muruga is here to guide us on the inner pathway to God Realization.

No matter what the season, you will love Ketchum, whose hills change color through the year from green to gold to pure white.  Ketchum is a small village at an altitude of 5,750 feet with mountain rising above it to over 12,000 feet, the highest peaks in Idaho.

When you are here during the summer months, ask for a guided trek to the Lord Muruga's Vel Shrine high up at 8,800 feet.  The Vel is Lord Muruga's psychic weapon through which He slices through the ignorance or veils of illusion to arrive at the transcendent Absolute Reality.  It is placed in a beautiful meadow with a stream running through it called the Meadow of Transformation.

Come. Visit and  Help build this temple of God Realization.
